الأسماء الموصولة: The Person Who … وThe Place Where … (A2)

لتحدّد الشخص أو الشيء الذي تقصده، أضف that وبعدها كلمات أخرى. وthat للأشخاص وللأشياء، وهي الأكثر استعمالًا مع الأشياء.

that للأشخاص والأشياء

• The woman that lives next door has a dog.
• This is the key that opens the back door.
• جرّب بنفسك: Woman: What do you want for dinner? Man: A pizza ___ has lots of vegetables. اختر ما يقوله الرجل (Man). (who / that / where) الإجابة: that — البيتزا شيء، وthat للأشخاص والأشياء.

who للأشخاص، وwhich للأشياء

يمكنك أيضًا أن تقول who للأشخاص وwhich للأشياء.

• The boy who sits next to me is very funny.
• My sister has a car which is very old.
• Not "The boy which sits next to me is very funny." — say "The boy who sits next to me is very funny.". الشخص يأخذ who (أو that)، لا which.
• جرّب بنفسك: Woman: Can I take an umbrella? Man: Sure. Take the one ___ is by the door. اختر ما يقوله الرجل (Man). (where / who / which) الإجابة: which — المظلة شيء، وwhich للأشياء.

where للمكان

للمكان، قل where وما يحدث هناك.

• This is the store where I buy my bread.
• Is there a place where we can park?
• جرّب بنفسك: Man: I'm hungry. Woman: Let's go to the restaurant ___ we had lunch on Sunday. اختر ما تقوله المرأة (Woman). (where / that / which) الإجابة: where — المطعم مكان، وwhere للأماكن.

that أم who أم which أم where؟

الأشخاص: that أو who. والأشياء: that أو which. والمكان وما يحدث فيه: where.

• a teacher who likes jokes
• a movie that makes you cry
• a town where people walk everywhere
