The man is a doctor. He lives next door. → The man who lives next door is a doctor.
I have a friend. She speaks five languages. → I have a friend who speaks five languages.
Not "The man which lives next door is a doctor." — say "The man who lives next door is a doctor.". Für eine Person nimmst du who, nicht which.
Probier es: I have a friend. She speaks five languages. Verbinde die zwei Sätze zu einem. (Lass das überflüssige Wort weg.) Antwort: I have a friend who speaks five languages. — Ein Freund ist eine Person, verbinde also mit who: I have a friend who speaks five languages. "Which" ist für Dinge, lass es also weg.

Not "I like movies who have happy endings." — say "I like movies that have happy endings.". Filme sind Dinge, nimm also that oder which, nicht who.

Du kannst who / which / that auch weglassen
Wenn who, which oder that das Objekt ist — jemand anderes tut etwas damit —, kannst du es weglassen: "the film that I saw" = "the film I saw". Behalte es bei, wenn es das Subjekt ist, also die Handlung selbst ausführt.
This is the film. I saw it last night. → This is the film (that) I saw last night.
Hiroshi is the friend. Mei met him. → Hiroshi is the friend (who) Mei met.
Here is the book. You lent it to me. → Here is the book (that) you lent me.
Not "This is the song I like it." — say "This is the song I like.". Wenn du das Verbindungswort weglässt, setze kein it dahinter ein: the song I like, nicht „the song I like it“.
Probier es: This is the book. Amina recommended it. Verbinde die beiden Sätze und lass das Verbindungswort weg. (Lass die überflüssigen Wörter weg.) Antwort: This is the book Amina recommended. — Amina handelt, das Buch ist also das Objekt — du kannst das Verbindungswort weglassen: This is the book Amina recommended. Du brauchst kein "that" und darfst nach recommended kein "it" einfügen, lass also beides weg.

Um zusätzliche Informationen über einen Ort zu geben, verbindest du mit where.
That's the restaurant. We ate there. → That's the restaurant where we ate.

Antwort: Amina is the teacher who helped me. — Eine Lehrerin ist eine Person, das passende Verbindungswort lautet also who: Amina is the teacher who helped me. "Which" steht für Dinge und "where" für Orte, lass also beide weg.
