بعضی فعل‌ها to و یه فعل می‌گیرن: want to go. بعضی‌ها یه فعلِ -ing دار می‌گیرن: enjoy going.
want to، enjoy -ing: یادآوری
I want to go home.
She enjoys cooking.
Not "I enjoy to cook." — say "I enjoy cooking.". بعد از enjoy، از فعلِ -ing دار استفاده کن.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: Do you like your new class? Woman: Yes! I enjoy ___ with the other students. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (working / to be / forgetting) جواب: working — از کلاسش خوشش میاد، و enjoy -ing می‌گیره، پس از کار کردن با بقیه‌ی شاگردها لذت می‌بره: working.
decide، hope، plan، learn + to
بعد از decide، hope، plan و learn، از to و یه فعل استفاده کن.
She decided to walk.
They plan to buy a house.
I hope to see you soon.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: Is your new apartment nice? Woman: It's okay. I hope ___ a bigger one next year. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (getting / to find / to lose) جواب: to find — یه جای بزرگ‌تر می‌خواد، و hope با to میاد، پس امیدواره یکی پیدا کنه: to find.
finish، don't mind + -ing
بعد از finish و don't mind، از فعلِ -ing دار استفاده کن.
We finished eating at nine.
I don't mind walking in the rain.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: Is your new school far? Woman: It's an hour by train, but I don't mind ___. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (to travel / cooking / going) جواب: going — راهِ طولانی براش مشکلی نیست، و don't mind -ing می‌گیره، پس از رفتن ناراحت نیست: going.
good at، interested in + -ing
بعد از good at و interested in، از فعلِ -ing دار استفاده کن.
He's good at cooking.
I'm interested in buying a bike.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: Why do you read so much about birds? Woman: I'm interested in ___ them. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (watching / to see / washing) جواب: watching — پرنده‌ها رو دوست داره، و interested in -ing می‌گیره، پس به تماشا کردنشون علاقه داره: watching.
Do you want me to …؟ (می‌خوای من …؟)
برای پیشنهادِ کمک، بگو Do you want me to و یه فعل.
Do you want me to help?
She wants me to call her.
Not "Do you want that I help?" — say "Do you want me to help?". بگو want me to، نه want that I.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: My arms are full. Woman: ___ open the door? حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (Do you want me to / Do you want that I / Do you want to) جواب: Do you want me to — پیشنهاد می‌ده در رو براش باز کنه، پس می‌گه Do you want me to open the door.
to + فعل: گفتنِ دلیل
برای اینکه بگی چرا یه کاری رو می‌کنی، از to و یه فعل استفاده کن.
I went to the store to buy milk.
He called to say sorry.
