Alguns verbos são seguidos por to e o verbo no infinitivo: want, decide, plan, hope, need, would like. Então você diz want to go, não want going.
want to go (to + verbo)
I want to learn English this year.
They decided to move to Senfarrow Brook.
We hope to see you soon.
She plans to visit Ghafwick this weekend.
Not "I want learning English." — say "I want to learn English.". Depois de want, use to e o verbo no infinitivo: want to learn.
Experimente: Sofia and Lars decided ___ to a new apartment. (to move / moving / move) Resposta: to move — Depois de decide, use to e o verbo no infinitivo: decided to move.
enjoy going (verbo + -ing)
Então você diz enjoy cooking, não enjoy to cook.
Sofia enjoys cooking Italian food.
Ethan finished writing his report.
I don't mind waiting outside.
Maya avoids eating sugar.
Not "Sofia enjoys to cook." — say "Sofia enjoys cooking.".
Experimente: Hiroshi finished ___ his report at Magaff Library. (writing / to write / write) Resposta: writing — Depois de finish, use a forma -ing: finished writing.
formando a forma -ing
eat → eating, do → doing (just add -ing)
write → writing (drop the -e, then add -ing)
take → taking, move → moving (drop the -e)
Ethan enjoys writing and cooking on weekends.
Not "Sofia enjoys writeing letters."
Experimente: After work, Kenji enjoys ___ dinner. (make) (making / makeing / makking) Resposta: making — "Make" termina em -e mudo, então tire o e antes de -ing: make → making. "Makeing" mantém o e, e "makking" dobra a letra errada.
Experimente: Amina wants ___ a course, and she enjoys ___ new people. (to take … meeting / taking … to meet / to take … to meet) Resposta: to take … meeting — Depois de want, use to e o verbo no infinitivo: want to take.
