phrasal verb های جداشدنی: turn it on، turn it off (A2)

phrasal verb یعنی یه فعل + یه particle (on، off، up)، مثلِ turn on و pick up. این دو تا کلمه با هم یه معنی دارن.

یه فعل و یه particle

• Turn on your computer.
• Pick up that bag.
• خودت امتحان کن: Woman: The baby wants to see the birds. Man: Okay. I'll ___ her up. حرفِ اون مرد رو انتخاب کن. (put / pick / set) جواب: pick — بچه می‌خواد پرنده‌ها رو ببینه، پس مرده بغلش می‌کنه و بلندش می‌کنه: pick her up.

بعضی‌ها جدا می‌شن

بعضی از این فعل‌ها می‌تونن جدا بشن. مفعول می‌تونه بعد از هر دو کلمه بیاد یا وسطشون: turn off the phone یا turn the phone off.

• Turn off the phone.
• Turn the phone off.
• خودت امتحان کن: Woman: The pizza is ready. Man: Great. Can you ___ the oven off? حرفِ اون مرد رو انتخاب کن. (look / turn / run) جواب: turn — پیتزا آماده‌ست، پس فر رو خاموش می‌کنن: turn the oven off.

it و them وسط میان

وقتی مفعول it یا them ـه، اون رو وسط بذار: turn it off، نه turn off it.

• Turn it off.
• Put them on.
• Not "Turn off it." — say "Turn it off.". it و them وسط میان.
• خودت امتحان کن: Woman: The kids' shoes are all over the floor. Man: Sorry! I'll ___ now. حرفِ اون مرد رو انتخاب کن. (pick up them / put them on / pick them up) جواب: pick them up — کفش‌ها روی زمینن، و them وسط میاد: pick them up.

بعضی‌ها هیچ‌وقت جدا نمی‌شن

بعضی‌ها هیچ‌وقت جدا نمی‌شن: look for it، run out of it. مفعول همیشه آخر میاد.

• Where are my keys? I'm looking for them.
• We never run out of coffee.
• خودت امتحان کن: Man: There's no milk in the refrigerator. Woman: Really? Did we ___? حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (run it out of / run out of it / put it on) جواب: run out of it — شیر نیست، و run out of هیچ‌وقت جدا نمی‌شه: run out of it.

try it on، fill it out: یادآوری

دو تا از اینا رو قبلاً یاد گرفتی: try it on و fill it out. اونجا هم it وسطه.

• Can I try it on?
• Please fill it out.
• خودت امتحان کن: Man: What do I do with this form? Woman: You need to ___ and give it to the man at the desk. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (fill it out / set it up / fill out it) جواب: fill it out — روی فرم می‌نویسه، و it وسط میاد: fill it out.

جدا می‌شه؟

turn on، turn off، put on، take off، pick up و set up می‌تونن جدا بشن. look for و run out of هیچ‌وقت جدا نمی‌شن.

• Put it on.
• Look for it.
• خودت امتحان کن: Man: I have a new computer, but I don't know how to start it. Woman: I can ___ for you. حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (set up it / look for it / set it up) جواب: set it up — کامپیوترِ جدید رو آماده می‌کنه، و set up می‌تونه جدا بشه: set it up.
