ようすを表すことばの前に very や really を置くと、意味を強めることができます。どちらもほぼ同じ意味です（really のほうが少しカジュアルです）。
very と really で強める
It's very cold today.
She's really kind.
That film was really good.

quite と fairly は「少し」を表し、極端ではない
quite と fairly は very よりも控えめな表現です。イギリス英語では quite は程度をやわらげることが多く、quite cold は「少し寒い」という意味で、「凍えるほど寒い」ではありません。
It's quite cold. (a bit cold, not freezing)
The test was fairly easy.
The film was quite good. (good, but not amazing)
やってみよう: It's not freezing, just ___ cold. You'll be fine without a coat. (quite / very / too) 答え: quite — とても寒いのではなく「少し寒い」という意味なので、quite を使います：quite cold。「Very」はとても寒いことを表し、「too」は寒すぎて問題があることを表します。
too は単に程度が強いだけでなく、問題を表す
too は very と同じではありません。too は「度を越して〜すぎる」という問題を表します。また、ようすを表すことばと使うときは too cold と言い、「too much cold」とは決して言いません。

It's too cold to go out. (a problem, we can't)
I'm too tired. (not "too much tired")
Not "It's very too cold." — say "It's too cold. / It's very cold.". very と too を一緒に並べてはいけません。どちらか1つを選びましょう。
やってみよう: I can't carry this, it's ___ heavy. (too / too much / very too) 答え: too — 運べないという問題があるので、too + ことば を使います：too heavy。「Too much」はようすを表すことばの前には置けず、「very too」は2つを重ねてしまっています。

Not "She is enough old to vote." — say "She is old enough to vote.". enough はようすを表すことばの前ではなく、後に来ます。
やってみよう: The soup has cooled down. It's ___ to eat now. Go ahead! (cool enough / enough cool / too cool) 答え: cool enough — 食べるのに十分冷めているという意味なので enough を使い、enough はことばの後に置きます：cool enough。「Enough cool」は語順が間違っており、「too cool」は冷めすぎて問題があるという意味になってしまいます。
