自分が何かをしたいときは Can I + 動詞 と聞きます。Could I のほうが少しやわらかく、ていねいです。
許可をもらう：Can I …? / Could I …?（よりていねい）

いいときは Sure か Of course、だめなときは Sorry, you can't と言います。

Would you mind + -ing?（聞いてわかればOK）
Would you mind + -ing は、人に何かを頼むとてもていねいな言い方です。引き受けるときは No problem か Sure と答えます。
Would you mind waiting a minute? — No problem.
