وقتی از یه طرف به طرفِ دیگه می‌ری، از across استفاده کن، و وقتی از یه طرف می‌ری تو و از طرفِ دیگه میای بیرون، از through.
across، through: از این‌ور به اون‌ور
Walk across the street at the crosswalk.
The light comes through the window.

into، out of: تو و بیرون
وقتی می‌ری داخل، از into استفاده کن، و وقتی میای بیرون، از out of.
The children run into the classroom.
The dog comes out of the water.
خودت امتحان کن: Farid: Where's the man with the bread? Lani: There. He's coming ___ the bakery now. به عکس نگاه کن. حرفِ Lani رو انتخاب کن. (out of / into / up) جواب: out of — داره از درِ نونوایی میاد بیرون، پس out of ـه.
up، down: بالا و پایین
وقتی به یه جای بالاتر می‌ری، از up استفاده کن، و وقتی به یه جای پایین‌تر می‌ری، از down.
He walks up the stairs.
She walks down the stairs.
خودت امتحان کن: Farid: Why is she walking with her bike? Lani: It's hard to ride ___ that hill. به عکس نگاه کن. حرفِ Lani رو انتخاب کن. (up / down / across) جواب: up — داره دوچرخه‌ش رو تا بالای تپه هل می‌ده، پس سخته که با دوچرخه بره بالا: up.
کدوم یکی؟
ببین کجا می‌ری. به طرفِ دیگه: across. تو، بعد بیرون: through. تو: into. بیرون: out of. بالاتر: up. پایین‌تر: down.
