Not "I use to play tennis." — say "I used to play tennis.". Hier steht das -d: used to. Es bedeutet, dass du es früher getan hast, aber jetzt nicht mehr.
Probier es: Amina ___ live near the harbor, but now she lives downtown. (used to / use to / uses to) Antwort: used to — Für etwas, das früher so war und sich geändert hat, nimmst du used to mit dem -d. "Use to" (ohne -d) und "uses to" sind hier nicht die Vergangenheitsform: she used to live there.
didn't use to
Um zu sagen, dass etwas früher nicht so war, sagst du didn't use to + Grundform. Nach didn't fällt das -d weg: Es heißt use to, nicht "used to".
I didn't use to like coffee. (now I do)
She didn't use to study hard.
We didn't use to have a car.
Not "I didn't used to like coffee." — say "I didn't use to like coffee.". Nach didn't gibt es kein -d: didn't use to.
Probier es: I ___ like coffee, but now I drink it every day. (didn't use to / didn't used to / don't use to) Antwort: didn't use to — Die Wörter stimmen, aber nach didn't steht kein -d: didn't use to (nicht "didn't used to"). Und für die Vergangenheit brauchst du didn't, nicht "don't".

Für Fragen beginnst du mit Did + Person + use to + Grundform. Auch hier heißt es nach Did wieder use to ohne -d.

(used to … didn't use to / use to … didn't used to / used to … didn't used to) Antwort: used to … didn't use to — Allein behält es das -d: used to smoke. Neben didn't fällt das -d weg: didn't use to. Im normalen Aussagesatz steht das -d, nach did/didn't verschwindet es.
