Not "Amina is as taller as Lars." — say "Amina is as tall as Lars.". In as ... as bleibt das Adjektiv in der Grundform: as tall as, nicht „as taller as“.
Probier es: Hiroshi runs ___ his brother. (as fast as / as faster as / as fast than) Antwort: as fast as — Das Wort dazwischen bleibt in der Grundform: as fast as (nicht "as faster as"). Und auf beiden Seiten steht as, das zweite Wort heißt also as, nicht "than": as fast as his brother.
not as ... as
Um zu sagen, dass eine Sache weniger ist als eine andere, fügst du not hinzu: not as + Wort + as.
She is not as tall as her sister. (= shorter)
Today isn't as cold as yesterday. (= warmer)
This café isn't as busy as the one downtown.
Probier es: Today isn't ___ yesterday. It's warmer. (as cold as / as colder as / as cold than) Antwort: as cold as — Behalte das Muster as ... as bei und ergänze nur das not ("isn't"): isn't as cold as yesterday. Das Wort bleibt in der Grundform (nicht "colder"), und auf beiden Seiten steht as, nicht "than".
as ... as oder -er than?
Frage dich vor der Entscheidung: Sind sie gleich oder ist eins mehr? Sind sie gleich → as + Grundform + as. Ist eins mehr → -er / more ... than. Ist eins weniger → not as ... as.
The same: Amina is as tall as Lars. (they measure the same)
One is more: Amina is taller than Lars.
One is less: Amina is not as tall as Lars. (= she is shorter)
Watch the word: it stays plain inside as ... as (as tall as), but takes -er with than (taller than).
Not "Amina is as tall than Lars." — say "Amina is as tall as Lars. / Amina is taller than Lars.". as gehört zu as, und -er gehört zu than. Mische beides nicht.
Probier es: Mei und Sofia sind beide genau 1,65 Meter groß. Keine von beiden ist größer. Was passt zu zwei Dingen mit genau den gleichen Maßen? (Mei is as tall as Sofia. / Mei is taller than Sofia.) Antwort: Mei is as tall as Sofia. — Sie sind genau gleich groß, also nimmst du as + Grundform + as: as tall as. "Taller than" würde bedeuten, dass eine größer ist, aber das stimmt nicht.

(as new as … as expensive as / as newer as … as expensive than / as new than … as expensive as) Antwort: as new as … as expensive as — Beide Lücken folgen demselben Muster: as + Grundform + as. Also as new as und as expensive as. Das Wort bleibt unverändert und auf beiden Seiten steht as, egal ob bejaht oder nach "isn't".
