Wenn jemand etwas mit sich selbst macht, nimmst du ein reflexive pronoun (Reflexivpronomen: myself, yourself …): I hurt myself.
I hurt myself.
He's talking to himself.
Not "I hurt me." — say "I hurt myself.". Dieselbe Person macht es und verletzt sich, also myself.

By myself – ganz allein
Sag by myself, wenn du etwas ohne andere machst. Das geht mit jedem Reflexivpronomen: by yourself, by herself, by ourselves.

Dieselbe Person: ein Reflexivpronomen (myself, herself, themselves). Jemand anderes: ein Objektpronomen (me, her, them).
