Phrasal verbs separáveis: turn it on, turn it off (A2)
Um phrasal verb é um verbo + uma particle (partícula: on, off, up), como turn on e pick up. As duas palavras juntas têm um só sentido.

Alguns podem se separar
Alguns desses verbos podem se separar. O objeto pode vir depois das duas palavras ou no meio: turn off the phone ou turn the phone off.

Experimente: Woman: The pizza is ready. Man: Great. Can you ___ the oven off? Escolha o que o homem diz. (look / turn / run) Resposta: turn — A pizza está pronta, então eles desligam o forno: turn the oven off.
it e them vão no meio
Quando o objeto é it ou them, coloque ele no meio: turn it off, e não turn off it.
Turn it off.
Put them on.
Not "Turn off it." — say "Turn it off.". it e them vão no meio.

Alguns nunca se separam
Alguns nunca se separam: look for it, run out of it. O objeto vai sempre no final.
Where are my keys? I'm looking for them.
We never run out of coffee.
