Imperativo (A1)

Para dar um comando, normalmente você usa só o verbo no infinitivo. Não comece com you.

Só o verbo no infinitivo

Wash the carrots.
Cut the onion.
Listen carefully.
Not "You wash the carrots." — say "Wash the carrots.". Um comando já significa you, deixe o sujeito de fora.
Experimente: ___ the carrots. (Wash / You wash / Washes) Resposta: Wash — Um comando começa com o verbo no infinitivo. Você colocou uma pessoa na frente: tire. Wash the carrots, não "You wash".

Para dizer que alguém não deve fazer algo, use Don't + o verbo no infinitivo.

Don't eat it yet!
Don't cut the bread.
Don't worry.
Not "Not eat it!" — say "Don't eat it!". Para deixar um comando negativo, use Don't antes do verbo, não só 'not'.
Experimente: ___ the eggs yet. (Don't mix / Not mix / Don't to mix) Resposta: Don't mix — Um comando negativo é Don't + o verbo no infinitivo. Não 'Not mix', e sem 'to' depois de Don't: Don't mix the eggs yet.

Agora suavize o comando: adicione please no começo ou no final.

Please wash your hands.
Cut the bread, please.
Please don't be late.
Experimente: Make it polite: ___ wash your hands. (Please / You please / Please you) Resposta: Please — Um comando nunca começa com uma pessoa, então não coloque "you": tanto "You please" quanto "Please you" estão errados. Use please sozinho: Please wash your hands.

Para sugerir fazer algo junto, use Let's + o verbo no infinitivo.

Let's cook dinner.
Let's wash the carrots.
Let's eat!
Not "Let's to cook." — say "Let's cook.". Let's vem com o verbo no infinitivo, sem to depois.
Experimente: ___ make soup. (Let's / Let's to / Lets) Resposta: Let's — Uma sugestão é Let's + o verbo no infinitivo: Let's make soup. Não leva 'to' depois de Let's, e Let's sempre tem apóstrofo.
Experimente: Tell your partner to mix the eggs: ___. (Mix the eggs / You mix the eggs / Mixes the eggs) Resposta: Mix the eggs — Um comando é só o verbo no infinitivo, sem nenhuma pessoa na frente: Mix the eggs. (É a base de todo comando.)
