片側から反対側へ行くときは across、片側から入って反対側から出るときは through を使います。
横切る・通り抜ける:across, through
Walk across the street at the crosswalk.
The light comes through the window.

中に入るときは into、外に出るときは out of を使います。

高いところへ行くときは up、低いところへ行くときは down を使います。
