人やものについて一般的に話すときは、most + 名詞 を使います。the も of もつけません。
most + 名詞（一般的な話）
Most people like pizza.
Most students work hard.
Most cafés in Haffenville open early.
Not "Most of people like pizza." — say "Most people like pizza.". 一般的な人々について話すときは、of をつけずに most だけで使います。
やってみよう: ___ children love candy. (Most / Most of / The most) 答え: Most — これは一般的な子どもたちについての話なので、シンプルに Most children にします。"Most of" はうしろに特定のグループが必要で（most of the children）、"the most" はいちばんを表すときに使います。
most of + 特定のグループ
指し示す特定のグループについて話すときは、most of + the / my / these を使います。
Most of the students passed the test.
Most of my friends live nearby.
Most of these books are old.
Not "Most my friends live nearby." — say "Most of my friends live nearby.". the / my / these の前には of が必要です（most of my friends）。
やってみよう: ___ my friends live nearby. (Most of / Most / The most) 答え: Most of — うしろに特定のグループ（my friends）があるので、of が必要です（Most of my friends）。"my / the / these" がない一般的な友だちの話なら、"Most friends" と言います。
いちばんを表す the most
グループの中でいちばんを表す長い単語と一緒に the most を見ましたね。それが3つ目の役割で、the most + 長い単語 の形になります。
She is the most talented player on the team.
That is the most interesting book here.
This is the most expensive coffee in town.
