PASSIVE VOICE - ALL TENSES (B1 Grammar)

Passive voice can be used in ALL tenses. The structure is always: BE (in the tense you need) + past participle. Change the form of BE to match the tense.

Quick tip: Passive = BE (in correct tense) + past participle. Change BE to match the tense: is/was/will be/has been/had been + past participle!

Present Tenses Passive

Simple Present: am/is/are + past participle. Present Continuous: am/is/are being + past participle. Present Perfect: has/have been + past participle.

Past Tenses Passive

Simple Past: was/were + past participle. Past Continuous: was/were being + past participle. Past Perfect: had been + past participle.

Future Tenses Passive

Future Simple: will be + past participle. Future Perfect: will have been + past participle.

What tense? Change BE to match! Present = is/are. Past = was/were. Future = will be. Perfect = has/have been or had been. Then add past participle!
