هر سهتا موافقتن، ولی به اندازههای مختلف. I completely agree یعنی کاملاً موافقی، با هر چی طرف گفته — قویترینشه و خنثیه، پس همهجا جواب میده. You've got a point خودمونی و صمیمیه؛ یعنی با یکی از حرفهاش موافقی، نه با همهش. I see what you mean ملایم و خنثیه؛ یعنی منظورش رو میفهمی و تا حدی موافقی، و معمولاً قبل از یه «ولی» کوچیک میاد.
موافقت کردن
I completely agree — I completely agree. Trains are better.
You've got a point — You've got a point about the price.
I see what you mean — I see what you mean.
Not "I completely agree, but the price is too high." — say "You've got a point, but the price is too high.". I completely agree رو فقط وقتی به کار ببر که با همهچی موافقی. اگه فقط با یه بخش موافقی و میخوای یه «but» اضافه کنی، بگو You've got a point.

مخالفت مؤدبانه
هر سهتا مخالفتن، ولی مؤدبانه — از ملایم تا ملایمترین. I'm afraid I disagree واضح میگه که موافق نیستی؛ عبارتِ «I'm afraid» فقط مؤدبانهش میکنه، پس حتی توی گفتوگوی رسمی هم اشکالی نداره. I don't really agree همون حرفه، ولی ملایمتر و خودمونیتر. I'm not sure about that از همه ملایمتره: یعنی به اون ایده شک داری، نه اینکه صاف بگی «نه».
I'm afraid I disagree — I'm afraid I disagree about the time.
I don't really agree — I don't really agree with that.
I'm not sure about that — I'm not sure about that.
Not "No, you're wrong." — say "I'm afraid I disagree.". توی انگلیسی مخالفت رو ملایم میکنیم. یه «you're wrong»ِ خشک بیادبانه به گوش میرسه — I'm afraid I disagree همون حرف رو مؤدبانه میزنه.

(You've got a point. / I completely agree. / I'm afraid I disagree.) جواب: You've got a point. — You've got a point فقط با یه بخش موافقه — اینجا، اینکه فیلم خیلی طولانی بود — پس با موافقتِ فقط با بخشی از حرفِ Amina جوره. I completely agree یعنی با همهچی موافقی، از جمله اینکه خوب بود، و I'm afraid I disagree یعنی اصلاً موافق نیستی، پس هیچکدوم با موافقتِ نسبی جور نیست.
قوی، ملایم و زیادی رُک
این جوابها در شدتشون با هم فرق دارن. موافقتِ قوی: Absolutely!، I couldn't agree more، That's so true! موافقتِ ملایم: You're right، I suppose so (موافقی، ولی بیاشتیاق). مخالفتِ مؤدبانه: I see it differently، I don't think so، I have to disagree. No way!، That's not true و You're wrong رو برای دوستات نگه دار — با یه غریبه یا رئیست زیادی رُک به گوش میرسن.
