so (پس)
از so استفاده کن تا بگی به خاطرِ قسمتِ اول چی شد.

although دو تا جمله رو به هم وصل می‌کنه
وقتی قسمتِ دوم غیرمنتظره‌ست، although دو تا جمله رو به هم وصل می‌کنه: Although it was late, I went out.
Although it was late, I went out.
Although I was tired, I finished my work.
خودت امتحان کن: Woman: Did you enjoy the party? Man: Yes. ___ I didn't know anyone, I had a great time. حرفِ اون مرد رو انتخاب کن. (Because / Although / So) جواب: Although — خوش گذشتن توی مهمونی‌ای که هیچ‌کس رو نمی‌شناخته غیرمنتظره‌ست، پس جمله با Although شروع می‌شه.
هیچ‌وقت although … but با هم نه
یا although رو بیار یا but رو، هیچ‌وقت هر دو رو توی یه جمله نیار.
Although the bus was full, we got on.
The bus was full, but we got on.
Not "Although the bus was full, but we got on." — say "Although the bus was full, we got on.". بعد از although، دیگه but اضافه نکن.
خودت امتحان کن: Man: How was the trip? Woman: Although the hotel was small, ___ حرفِ اون خانم رو انتخاب کن. (but we loved it. / we loved it. / so we loved it.) جواب: we loved it. — بعد از although، قسمتِ دوم کلمه‌ی ربط لازم نداره.
کدوم کلمه‌ی ربط؟
از روی معنی انتخاب کن: برای دلیل because، برای اتفاقی که به‌خاطرِ اون افتاد so، و برای تفاوت but.
We stayed home because it rained.
It rained, so we stayed home.
It rained, but we went out.
خودت امتحان کن: Woman: Why is the house so clean? Man: My parents are coming tomorrow, ___ I cleaned everything. حرفِ اون مرد رو انتخاب کن. (but / because / so) جواب: so — چون پدر و مادرش دارن میان همه‌جا رو تمیز کرده، پس می‌گه so.
