Para algo que puede pasar, usa if + presente, y luego will + verbo: If the bus is late, I'll walk.
If + presente, y luego will
If the bus is late, I'll walk.
If you call me, I'll come.
Not "If the bus will be late, I'll walk." — say "If the bus is late, I'll walk.". Después de if, usa el presente, no will.
Pruébalo: Woman: Our team is playing tonight. Man: If they ___, we'll have a party.
En ese caso no lleva coma: I'll call you if I see her.
I'll call you if I see her.
She'll be angry if you forget.
Pruébalo: Woman: I don't have an umbrella. Man: You'll get wet if it ___. Elige lo que dice el hombre. (stops / rains / will stop / will rain) Respuesta: rains — La lluvia te moja, así que él dice if it rains; después de if, usa el presente, no will rain.
Para avisar: If you don't …, you'll …
Usa If you don't … para decir qué cosa mala va a pasar: If you don't hurry, you'll be late.
If you don't hurry, you'll be late.
If you don't study, you won't pass the test.
Pruébalo: Man: I'm going to bed at two in the morning. Woman: If you ___ sleep more, you'll be tired tomorrow. Elige lo que dice la mujer. (do / don't / will) Respuesta: don't — Las dos de la mañana es tarde, así que se dice: if you don't sleep more, you will be tired.
Siempre que pasa: el presente dos veces
Para algo que pasa every time (cada vez), puedes usar el presente en las dos oraciones: If you are cold, you put on a coat.
If you are cold, you put on a coat.
If I eat late, I don't sleep well.
Pruébalo: Woman: Why do you take the bus to work? Man: If I ___ there, I can't find a place to park. Elige lo que dice el hombre. (walk / will drive / drive / will walk) Respuesta: drive — Un carro necesita dónde estacionar, así que if I drive, cada vez; después de if, usa el presente.
