الضمائر المنعكسة (reflexive pronouns) تنتهي بـ -self أو -selves. لشخص أو شيء واحد: myself، yourself، himself، herself، itself. ولأكثر من واحد: ourselves، yourselves، themselves.

The cat is washing itself.
The children dressed themselves.
جرّب بنفسك: Man: How was the party? Woman: Great! The kids really enjoyed ___. اختر ما تقوله المرأة (Woman). (them / ourselves / themselves) الإجابة: themselves — استمتع الأطفال، إذن: they enjoyed themselves.
تعود إلى نفس الشخص
عندما يفعل شخص شيئًا لنفسه، أي للشخص نفسه، استخدم ضميرًا منعكسًا (reflexive pronoun) مثل myself وyourself: I hurt myself.
I hurt myself.
He's talking to himself.
Not "I hurt me." — say "I hurt myself.". الشخص نفسه يفعل الشيء ويتأذّى، إذن myself.
جرّب بنفسك: Woman: You made dinner for everyone? Man: Yes, and I made ___ a big dessert, too! اختر ما يقوله الرجل (Man). (me / myself / yourself) الإجابة: myself — صنع الحلوى للشخص نفسه، أي لنفسه، لذلك يقول myself.
By myself: وحدي
قل by myself عندما تفعل شيئًا وحدك بلا أحد. وهي تصلح مع كل الضمائر المنعكسة: by yourself، by herself، by ourselves.
I like to walk by myself.

جرّب بنفسك: Man: Is anyone going with you to the concert? Woman: No, I'm going ___. That's fine! اختر ما تقوله المرأة (Woman). (with my sister / by myself / by yourself) الإجابة: by myself — لا أحد ذاهب معها، لذلك تقول by myself.
الشخص نفسه، أم شخص آخر؟
الشخص نفسه: ضمير منعكس (myself، herself، themselves). وشخص آخر: ضمير مفعول به (me، her، them).
She looked at herself in the mirror. (the same woman)
She looked at her and said hello. (another woman)
