لتقول إن شيئين متساويان في جانب ما، ضع كلمة الوصف بين as مرتين: as + كلمة + as. تبقى الكلمة كما هي، بلا -er.

Not "Amina is as taller as Lars." — say "Amina is as tall as Lars.". داخل as ... as، تبقى الكلمة كما هي: as tall as، وليس "as taller as".
جرّب بنفسك: Hiroshi runs ___ his brother. (as fast as / as faster as / as fast than) الإجابة: as fast as — الكلمة بينهما تبقى كما هي: as fast as (وليس "as faster as"). وكلا الجانبين as، فالثانية أيضًا as، وليست "than": as fast as his brother.
not as ... as
لتقول إن شيئًا أقل من آخر، أضف not: not as + كلمة + as.
She is not as tall as her sister. (= shorter)
Today isn't as cold as yesterday. (= warmer)
This café isn't as busy as the one downtown.
جرّب بنفسك: Today isn't ___ yesterday. It's warmer. (as cold as / as colder as / as cold than) الإجابة: as cold as — احتفظ بنفس البنية as ... as، فقط أضف not ("isn't"): isn't as cold as yesterday. تبقى الكلمة كما هي (وليس "colder")، وكلا الجانبين as، فالثانية أيضًا as، لا "than".
as ... as أم -er than؟
قبل أن تختار، اسأل نفسك: هل هما متساويان، أم أن أحدهما أكثر؟متساويان → as + الكلمة المجردة + as. أحدهما أكثر → -er / more ... than. أحدهما أقل → not as ... as.
The same: Amina is as tall as Lars. (they measure the same)
One is more: Amina is taller than Lars.
One is less: Amina is not as tall as Lars. (= she is shorter)
Watch the word: it stays plain inside as ... as (as tall as), but takes -er with than (taller than).
Not "Amina is as tall than Lars." — say "Amina is as tall as Lars. / Amina is taller than Lars.". as تأتي مع as، و-er تأتي مع than. لا تخلط بينهما.
جرّب بنفسك: طول Mei وSofia ١٫٦٥ متر بالضبط لكلتيهما. لا إحداهما أطول من الأخرى. أي جملة تناسب شيئين لهما القياس نفسه؟ (Mei is as tall as Sofia. / Mei is taller than Sofia.) الإجابة: Mei is as tall as Sofia. — طولهما واحد، إذن استخدم as + الكلمة المجردة + as: as tall as. أما "taller than" فتعني أن إحداهما أطول، وهذا غير صحيح هنا.
جرّب بنفسك: My phone is ___ yours, but it isn't ___ that new one. (as new as … as expensive as / as newer as … as expensive than / as new than … as expensive as) الإجابة: as new as … as expensive as — كلا الفراغين يتبعان نفس النمط: as + كلمة بسيطة + as. إذن as new as وas expensive as. أبقِ الكلمة كما هي وكلا الجانبين as، في الجملة المثبتة وبعد "isn't" على حدٍّ سواء.
