人や場所のようすを言う (A2)

人でいっぱいの場所は crowded です。古くなく新しく見える場所は modern です。すわったり寝たりして気持ちのいいいすやベッドは comfortable です。

場所の見た目

音がしない場所は quiet、たくさん音がする場所は noisy です。

カフェも公園もジムも、みんな places です。Near はここから少しの距離、Far はここから遠い距離という意味です。

たくさんの人が好きな場所やものは popular です。人がらを聞くときは What's she like? と聞きます：friendly、funny、shy など。

• Not "What does she look like? She's really patient." — say "What's she like? She's really patient.". What's she like? は人がらをたずねます。What does she look like? は顔や髪など見た目をたずねます。
• やってみよう: Ethan: My friend's sister works at the Community Center now. Sofia: Oh? ___ Ethan: She's shy, but she's really friendly.
