道を教えるときは、まっすぐ進むなら go straight ahead、向きを変えるなら turn left や turn right、道に沿って歩くなら go along the street を使います。曲がる場所は at the traffic light（信号のところで）のようによく表現します。
進む方向

建物の場所を言うときは、すぐ隣なら next to、向かい側なら across from、2つの場所の間なら between、2本の道路が交わる角なら on the corner を使います。

道案内でよく使われる表現をさらに2つ覚えましょう。歩く時間を表すときは、数字と minute を walk の前につけて a 15-minute walk（徒歩15分）のように言います。何番目の角かを指定するときは、first、second、third のように順序を表すことばを使って Take the first right.（1つ目の角を右に曲がってください）のように言います。

first — Take the first right after the gas station.
