Describing People (A1 Vocabulary)
You can describe hair by its length. Long hair, short hair, and wavy hair that is not straight.
Hair length and shape
- long hair /lɒŋ heər/ — She has long hair.
- short hair /ʃɔːrt heər/ — He has short hair.
- wavy hair /ˈweɪvi heər/ — She has wavy hair.
- Try it: Choose the word: (long hair / short hair / gray hair) Answer: long hair — This person has long hair.
Hair color
You can describe hair by its color. Brown hair, light blonde hair, and gray hair.
- brown hair /braʊn heər/ — She has brown hair.
- blonde hair /blɒnd heər/ — She has blonde hair.
- gray hair /ɡreɪ heər/ — He has gray hair.

Tall and short
Tall means high from the ground. Short means not tall.

Young means few years, like a child. Old means many years.
