Present simple: questions (A1 Grammar)

For a question with I, you, we, they, start with Do + the base verb.

Questions: Do

• Do you speak English?
• Do they live here?
• Not "Are you live here?" — say "Do you live here?". For an action, the question word is Do, not 'Are'.
• Try it: ___ you live here? (Do / Does / Are) Answer: Do — With you, start the question with Do, then the base verb: Do you live here?

Questions: Does

For a question with he, she, it, start with Does + the base verb.

• Does he work here?
• Does she like coffee?
• Not "Does he works here?" — say "Does he work here?". Does already has the -s, the verb goes back to plain.
• Try it: ___ he work here? (Does / Do / Is) Answer: Does — With he, the question starts with Does (Do is for I/you/we/they): Does he work here?
