Simple Present (A1 Grammar)

Use Simple Present for habits, facts, and routines.

Quick tip: he/she/it adds -s or -es. I/you/we/they use the base verb.

I/you/we/they + base verb

Use the base verb with I, you, we, they.

• I work in an office.
• You speak English well.
• They play football.

he/she/it + verb-s/es

Add -s or -es to the verb with he, she, it.

• He works in an office.
• She watches TV.
• It rains a lot here.

Common mistakes

• Not "He work here." — say "He works here.". Add -s with he/she/it.
