Going to (Future) (A1 Grammar)

Use going to for future plans and intentions.

Quick tip: am/is/are + going to + base verb

Form: am/is/are + going to + verb

Use am/is/are + going to + base verb.

• I am going to study tonight.
• She is going to visit Paris.
• They are going to help.

Negatives

Add not after am/is/are.

• I'm not going to work.
• He isn't going to come.
• We aren't going to stay.

Questions

Put Am/Is/Are before the subject.

• Are you going to study?
• Is he going to come?
• What are you going to do?

Common mistakes

• Not "I going to study." — say "I am going to study.". Need am/is/are.
• Not "He is going to studies." — say "He is going to study.". Use base verb.
• Not "Are you going study?" — say "Are you going to study?". Don't forget 'to'.
