I'll (will + verb) (A1 Grammar)

Use will when you decide, offer, or predict at the moment of speaking. The short form is 'll: I'll, you'll, it'll.

Quick tip: I'll / it'll / they'll + base verb

Offer: I'll + verb

Use I'll + base verb to offer help right now.

• That bag is heavy. I'll carry it.
• I'll help you.
• I'll open the door.

Decide now: I'll + verb

Use I'll + base verb when you decide at this moment.

• I'm thirsty. I'll have some water.
• Okay, I'll take the bus.
• I'll call you later.

Predict: it'll / they'll + verb

Use 'll + base verb to say what you think will happen.

• Look at the sky. It'll rain.
• Don't worry. It'll be fine.
• They'll be happy.

Common mistakes

• Not "I will to help you." — say "I will help you.". No 'to' after will — use the base verb.
• Not "I'll helping you." — say "I'll help you.". Use the base verb, not -ing.
• Not "It will rains." — say "It will rain.". No -s after will.
