OBJECT PRONOUNS (A2 Grammar)

Object pronouns come AFTER the verb or preposition. They receive the action.

Quick tip: Before verb = subject (I/he/she). After verb or preposition = object (me/him/her).

Subject vs Object pronouns

Subject (before verb) vs Object (after verb/preposition).

• I - me (He likes me.)
• you - you (I know you.)
• he - him (I saw him.)
• she - her (Call her.)

Object pronouns after verbs

Use object pronouns after action verbs.

• I love her. (NOT: I love she)
• She knows me. (NOT: She knows I)
• We saw them yesterday.
• Can you help us?

Object pronouns after prepositions

Use object pronouns after prepositions (to, for, with, about).

• This is for him. (NOT: for he)
• Come with us! (NOT: with we)
• She's talking about me.
• Listen to them.

Common mistakes

• Not "I saw she yesterday" — say "I saw her yesterday". After verb = object pronoun.
• Not "Come with we" — say "Come with us". After preposition = object pronoun.
