(لكن إن جاء قبل y حرف من a, e, i, o, أو u، أبقِه كما هو: day → days.
y → ies
baby → babies
city → cities
story → stories
Haffenville and Ghafwick are two ___.
a, e, i, o, u + y → just -s
لكن عندما يأتي قبل y حرف من a, e, i, o, أو u، أبقِ الـ y وأضف -s فقط: key → keys · boy → boys · day → days.
key → keys
boy → boys
day → days
1 day. Now seven ___. (days / daies / day) الإجابة: days — الحرف a يأتي قبل الـ y في "day"، لذا يبقى الـ y وتكتفي بإضافة -s: days (وليس "daies").
One is a city, one is a boy. Two ___ and three ___. في city يوجد t، وهو ليس من a, e, i, o, u، فتصير الـ y إلى ies: cities.
Look at the letter before the y. Two ___ and seven ___. (babies … days / babys … daies / babies … daies) الإجابة: babies … days — في baby يوجد b قبل الـ y، وهو ليس من a, e, i, o, u، فتصير babies. وفي day يوجد a، فتبقى الـ y: days.
-f / -fe → -ves
احفظ هذه الأمثلة: knife → knives · leaf → leaves · wife → wives · life → lives.
knife → knives
leaf → leaves
wife → wives

أشخاص: man, woman, child, person
هذه الأربع تغيّر الكلمة نفسها، لا النهاية: man → men · woman → women · child → children · person → people.
one man → two men
one woman → two women
one child → two children
one person → two people

one foot → two feet
one tooth → two teeth

The dentist looks at my ___.
Camila buys food for the party. Three ___ help her carry the bags. مثل man → men و child → children.
